Robert De Bonis, Chiropractor

 

Robert De Bonis, D.C., a.k.a. “Dr. Bob,” was born and raised in NYC where he obtained his B.A. in Psychology and Education at Queens College.  In 1978 he earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College, and in 2007 relocated to the U. S. Virgin Islands after practicing in New York City for 28 years. 

 

Dr. Bob was Chairman of the Board for 2 of the 13 years he served on the N. Y. State Licensing Board of Chiropractic.  Additionally, he was a founding member and Executive Officer of the N. Y. Chiropractic Council, and a Board of Trustee to Life University in Marietta, Georgia.

 

Over the years, Dr. Bob has been an active member of the community; from yearly food drives in his office for City Harvest, to traveling to El Salvador to offer his services to this underserved population.  Following the 9/11 crisis in 2001, he cared for rescue workers for 6 months at the Ground Zero Red Cross station.

 

Since moving to St. John, he has donated his services to raise money for the Virgin Island Special Olympics and is an active member of the Recycling Association of the Virgin Islands.  He also represents the U. S. Virgin Islands to the International Chiropractic Association.

 

Dr. Bob has 3 grown sons, David, Michael & Daniel, and lives on St. John with Susan, his wife of 34 years.

 

Dr. Bob is currently accepting new patients at the Red Hook and Cruz Bay offices where he cares for a variety of muscular skeletal conditions as well as many other health related issues.
