Nurse Practitioner Certified Nurse Midwife
Meg Sheahan, C.N.M., is a certified nurse midwife, program director and educator with a focus on public health. She has worked clinically and programmatically in stable and emergency situations in the United States, Caribbean, Asia and Afria.
Meg received her Bachelor of Arts, Sociology and Women's Studies in 2000 at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She earned her Master of Public Health, with Honors, in 2003 at Tulane University of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, New Orleans, LA, and her Master of Science in Nursing, with Honors, at Yale University, New Haven, CT in 2007.
She received her Registered Nurse Certification in 2006, her Midwife Certification (CNM) in 2007, and her American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Instructor Certification in 2009.
Meg has worked as a CNM Supervisor for Doctors Without Boarders in Nigeria; as an Assistant Professor at the University of the VI School of Nursing; a Certified Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor at Schneider Regional Medical Center on St. Thomas, VI and a Registered Nurse in Loveland, CO.
Currently, in addition to providing care at our bi-weekly Saturday Women's Health Clinics, Meg is a Midwife at the Schneider Regional Medical Center on St. Thomas; an Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University College of Health Care Sciences in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and the Territorial Director and Certified Nurse Midwife for the US Virgin Islands Department of Health Family Planning Program.
