Judith Whitley, FNP, CNM
Nurse Practitioner/Certified Nurse Midwife
Judith Whitley was born in Buffalo NY. She developed an early interest in science and medicine while working for her father, an oral surgeon, when she was still in high school.
Judith started college at Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY. She decided to escape the cold and transferred to the University of Miami, earning her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) in 1975. This was followed by a move to Key West where she worked as a Nursing Supervisor at a small hospital.
An opportunity to work with the World Health Organization in Africa required a Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) degrees, which she earned at the University of Florida, Gainesville.
Motherhood changed her relocation plan from Africa to St. John, VI. Judith worked as the head nurse at the Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center. She then joined Red Hook Family Practice (RHFP) as a Nurse Practitioner, working with Dr. James Clayton. After a few years at RHFP she transferred to the R L Schneider Hospital in St Thomas until she opened her own practice, Women’s Healthcare of the VI , which later became Healthcare Connection.
In 1995 she went back to school in California to become a Certified Nurse Midwife. In 2017 she closed Healthcare Connection and rejoined Red Hook Family Practice PC. Judith now sees patients of all ages at our Cruz Bay, Yacht Haven and Red Hook Family Practice Clinics.
