Karen Burnett, MD
Family Medicine Physician
Dr. Burnett was born in Oregon but grew up in Massachusetts. She has been practicing medicine since 1988 in some way, shape, or form.
Dr. Burnett graduated from Keene State College, Keene, NH 1988 with a B.S. in Physical Education/Sports Medicine and practiced as an NATA certified Athletic Trainer for 5 years. She then went on to graduate school at Northeastern
University, Boston, MA and earned her Masters of Health Professions degree as well as her Physician Assistant degree in 1993.
In 1994, she moved to Colorado and practiced as a PA for 7 years, after which she decided to go back to medical school. She traveled to Saba, Netherlands Antilles, where She received her MD degree from Saba University School
of Medicine in 2004.
Dr. Burnett did her residency training at St. Anthony North hospital, Denver, Colorado which provided a strong emphasis in pediatric care, prenatal care, high risk obstetrics, chronic disease management, geriatrics, along with general family practice and in-office procedures. Completing residency in 2007, she continued to practice family medicine in Denver. Dr. Burnett treats both the young and the old. She believes that she is a teacher: she educates the patient so that together they can make the best decision for what is right for that person.
In her free time, Dr. Burnett likes to play with her dogs, play pool, sing, hike, ski, and read. Dr. Burnett has run two full marathons and four half marathons. Dr. Burnett is board certified in Family Medicine.
